Since 1988 Skjold Design Guitars has been on the quest for the best, most consistent strings we could find. As a result, starting in 2005 we have had our own custom manufactured strings made to Skjold Design's exact specifications. It starts with the core, a flexible hex-core upon which strands of premium stainless steel and nickel plated steel are wrapped, combined into what we call our "hybrids." For our stainless strings, the same process is followed with a smooth stainless final wrap as the finishing touch. Both strings offer a balanced tone and feel to the player. The tension is not too tight, but not so light as to be floppy or unresponsive. The strings are part of the total sum that make up a Skjold Design Guitar. As with the basses, these are proudly made in the USA.
